Tiny Hugs. Big Impact.

September 1st -  October 22nd

Kimberbell is launching a new Tiny Hugs initiative to support families who are grieving the loss of a child or are facing big medical challenges with their children. At times like these, a quilt to hold brings light in the darkness!

We encourage you to make and donate child-sized blankets for families in these circumstances. We know how much quilters are eager to give with their hearts, their talents, and their hands.

Everyone goes through heartwrenching and difficult times. As we come together to support those who are struggling, great things can happen . . .one stitch and one quilt at a time.

Why Tiny Hugs? Click the video below to see Kim and Liz talking about why these donated quilts are so important.

Please share your donations on Facebook with the hashtag #kimberbelltinyhugs so we can see what you've created. We can’t wait to work with you in sharing Tiny Hugs with the families who need them most!

Where Do I Send the Blankets!

Below is a list of reputable places to send the blankets to. Our Tiny Hugs can make a BIG difference—one stitch, one quilt, and one family at a time.

Local Hospitals - Hospitals often take handmade blankets to give to patients. Child Life Specialists work with the Pediatric and Newborn Intensive Care Units to provide comfort to kids, babies, and their families in the hospital.

Project Linus - Project Linus provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 in the United States who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.

Quilts for Kids - Donations go to kids and babies in need experiencing serious illness, trauma, abuse or natural disasters.

Ronald McDonald House Program - Donations go to families staying in the Ronald McDonald Houses and are away from home while someone in the family is undergoing medical treatment.

Operation First Response - Handmade quilts go into backpacks which are provided to wounded in combat support hospitals.

Quilts of Valor - Handmade quilts which are given to veterans. You must reach out to your local chapter or state coordinator to see if they are accepting at this time.

Quilts of Honor - Handmade quilts which are given to any frontline defenders.

Snuggles Project - Donated blankets are donated to local animal shelters to give to animals staying at the shelter.
